How can I restrict my users choices for the Send-As address?

For this purpose we included a special utility in the ChangeSender Server components installation: The "Configure ChangeSender Client Restrictions" Tool.

Use this utility to allow or restrict your user's choices of addresses in their respective Outlook add-ins. You can:

• Allow the user to choose from their email addresses configured in the ActiveDirectory. This is the default.
• Allow no choice but restrict the choice to a single address
• Allow the user to user any address with no restrictions

The ChangeSender Outlook Add-in can be used in two different scenarios:

• Outlook connected to Exchange directly on a computer that is part of the same ActiveDirectory domain

  In this case the ChangeSender Outlook add-in accesses the list of available email addresses and also the list of restrictions defined in this utility directly from the AD.

• Outlook connected to Exchange via HTTPS on a computer not part of the AD domain

  In this case the ChangeSender Outlook add-in on the client computer has no way of reading the available email addresses or the restrictions defined with this utility from the AD. For these cases you can use a file exported by this utility to relay that information to the client.

  Use this utility as usual to restrict or allow the choices for a specific user and then click on "Export config file". The files exported will be named email_address_of_user.cfg. Copy the file of the user in question to their computer and import the file into the ChangeSender Outlook add-in when prompted.
